Project: 3000 visitors per day Drupal blog
Had in my mind a simple idea to build blog which is about... blog building on Drupal and blogging itself. Once a time ago have heard a great idea that success should be measurable, so measuring in unique visitors sounds a nice form for personal blog site. Decided to continue project until 3000 unique visitors per day amount is reached.
Also thought some of the guidelines (they are rather SEO, web marketing netiquette principles) how to promote blog. Here they are:
- Use only "white hat" SEO, social, web marketing techniques
- Do not abuse anyone with info. Use email, forum, comment signatures, other mass info in respectable way
- Do not spend money on promotion, except in very small quantities in non-direct way if it is really necesary
- Use all Drupal power I can, including framework itself, drupal.org site, related social projects, web directories, different how-to's
- Build backlink network on related sites, public directories, friends sites. No link spaming, link farms, backlinks from disreputable sites
- Use own knowledge, only limited help from others, mostly in indirect way
- Constantly improve blog (currently it is very lean in features...)
- Build how-to's on the things I've done on this blog
- Report progress on the blog
- Report all the things that work and those who don't
- Do not spam blog with content. This blog is mainly about the... blog itself :) No cheap vi@#gra, free mp3, FAST MONEY FROM WEB crap. Most of the content about (this) blog building and promotion, Drupal, some info about myself, my other activities
- And last, but not least: use my own way of blogging. If I want to write a blog with just couple lines of nonsense, I'll do that! Do not follow blindly those "Do this or that to be successfull blogger". I will create and follow my own rules ;)

#1 Hi, Charles. Yes, I stick to
Hi, Charles. Yes, I stick to white hat seo, but I am ~ 80x away from reaching 3000 visitors/day. Even if this blog contains just posts about nothing, it is hard to find so many people interrested in that :)
Probably I should market myself more as "Alexa ratings optimisation" or "Personal blog promotion tips & tricks" which doesn't seem such a bad idea at all. During the last couple of months I was busy, so wrtiting to this blog was low priority.
